Because every tiny house we build is unique to our clients, Mustard Seed Tiny Homes begins with a Planning & Design Consultation (P&D). This process will collect and provide all of the details needed to properly design and build your tiny house according to your needs and vision for your new home. We will cover selections, materials, preferences and options to combine them into a single, clear plan for your home.

Because of the time required to perform our P&D services, we do charge for them at the time of service. Our normal P&D costs are $700. If you desire to have photo realistic 3D views it can cost a bit more. But usually, our standard P&D is quite sufficient to clearly describe what your home will look like and exactly what it will cost. Below, are the items we will deliver to you upon completing your P&D.

• CAD design drawing of your floor plan, elevations. This shows what we will be building.

Line itemized cost estimate showing details of all build costs. Parts and materials, features, cost and allocations. For consumer products we also show brand, model from our supplier. Unlike most companies, we display our hard costs as line items, then add our overhead/profit at the bottom in the open. This way you are able to see where your real costs are in your home, then plan and shop accordingly.

• Build Order Agreement showing the terms of our build order process, warranty info terms.
• Schedule showing build process and stages to complete your build.

The good news is the cost of your P&D fee is not lost when we build your home. When we proceed to your Build Order, your P&D cost will be considered as partial payment and applied toward your down payment. The typical time required to complete a P&D is about four (4) weeks. But planning is an essential part of creating your home. This is a fun and exciting part of the process we simply cannot rush. It all starts with an online general ballpark quote found here. From there we can confirm placement, general transport/setup quotes and help you with financing needs. Then we can schedule and perform your P&D. Once the P&D is complete we can proceed to your build order.
